Wilderness Skills and Survival Training

with Steve Leckman

July 31st-August 2nd

Following back any of our lineages, we will find anscestors whose community and culture depended on not only a commitment to service for the collective, but an acute sensory awareness, and an intimate relationship to the ecosystem they were a part of. Their teachers and guides were the animals, plants and the techniques they lived with day in and day out. Forest laws were followed ensuring the prosperity of all things.
Let's explore these skills together: the skills of the tracker, how to make fire without matches, how to build traditional shelters, collect food, make baskets, boil water, tan hides, speak the language of the birds, and to listen to the rythms of the forest. The essence of these skills is a deeper self-awareness, sense of place and connection to the forces of nature.
Prepare to play outside in the forest!
